Dr. Jayanta K. Dey is the VP Engineering for VMware Storage and
Data Management offerings.  Prior to this, Jayanta built and led

VMware’s Cloud Foundation for running modern applications and
workloads, as well as WorkSpace ONE, VMware’s Cloud Platform
for Mobile and Remote workforces, helping to grow them both to
$1B businesses.  Jayanta has performed Engineering leadership
roles in NetApp, Avid, and startups, as well as taught at Tufts
University, in areas of storage, video streaming, distributed
systems and networking.  Jayanta has served on boards for
organizations working across the spectrum of Inclusion and
Diversity issues, and is currently is the Executive Sponsor of the
LGBTQ+ ERG in VMware.  
Jayanta holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of
Massachusetts, and a B. Tech in Computer Science from Indian
Institute of Technology, Madras.
